Gourmet Dining in the Heart of Princeton

The Peacock Inn Restaurant opened on May 17, 2010 under the helm of Executive Chef Manuel Perez.  The restaurant has been designed to provide an elegant and exceptional dining experience enhanced by attentive service, sophisticated décor, and a contemporary approach to cuisine.  Chef Perez trained for three years at the celebrated Le Bernardin in New York under celebrity chef Eric Ripert, and later refined his skills at New York’s Water Club.  He was most recently Chef de Cuisine at the highly regarded Restaurant Nicholas in Red Bank, New Jersey.

Chef Perez has already garnered rave reviews for his “New American” cuisine menu and received 4 stars “Excellent” from Cody Kendall of The Star Ledger as well as listing among the “Best New Restaurants” by New Jersey Monthly Magazine. Chef Perez and his staff pride themselves on using only the highest quality and freshest ingredients, many acquired from the area’s local farmers and food purveyors.

The intimate dining rooms blend elegance, comfort, and romance. The walls showcase prized artwork, murals, and menus from the 1930’s, some of which were discovered behind cement walls in the basement of this historic building. One such mural depicts John Von Neumann, the famed Princeton mathematician driving a car while reading a book.

While the menu changes depending upon the season, The Peacock Inn provides diners looking for a gourmet restaurant in Princeton with signature appetizers include Crispy Soft Shell Crab, Compressed Watermelon and Watermelon Gazpacho; Pan Seared Sea Scallops, Carrot Puree, Braised Endive, Orange Brown Butter; and Crispy Pork Belly, Gingered Peaches, Napa Cabbage Peanut Salad. Chef Perez’s entrees include a Mojo Braised Suckling Pig with Crispy Yucca, Papaya-Cilantro Salad, and Guava Gastrique; Roasted Maine Lobster with Smoked Potato Pierogi, Vidalia Onion Confit, and Paprika Butter; Seared Halibut and Shrimp with Chorizo chowder, Fingerling Potatoes, Piquillo Pepper; or Seared Fillet Mignon with Yukon Gold Potato Fondant and Braised Leeks with a Bordelaise Sauce.

The Peacock Bar has quickly become THE place to be seen in Princeton.  Guests can enjoy small plates while sipping a favorite cocktail — including the Inn’s signature Peacock Fizz or Hawaiian Martini — or a selection of wines from the wine cellar.

The Restaurant is open 7 days a week for dinner by reservation from 5:30 p.m.  The Bar at the Peacock Inn is open daily from 5 p.m.
